LaToya Terry is the Tax Assessor Collector for Channelview Independent School District. LaToya holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from University of Houston, Registered Texas Assessor/Collector, Certified School Tax Administrator, and Certified Texas Administrator Designation.

LaToya has built her entire executive career in the property tax field having more than 22 years of progressively responsible experience in the property tax profession. A high-energy, fiscally conscious, and goal-driven executive, LaToya approaches each challenge with her intrinsic flair for innovation, creativity, and measured risk-taking to reach each goal necessary to create positive returns.

LaToya has worked her way through all positions of the Gulf Coast Chapter of TAAO board and served as president in 2019. She has served on various committees with her local chapter and has served as the 2021 Conference Chair, 2015-2016 Membership Chair, 2018-2019 Toni Trumbull Scholarship Chair and a committee member on various committees at the state and local level. She received the President’s Award in 2021, was CTA of the Year Award recipient in 2019, and an Up & Coming Award nominee in 2016. 

LaToya has been married to her husband Anthony for over 19 years. With two active teenage children, LaToya can usually be found at a baseball tournament or dance competition. She is also very active in her local church where she is a dedicated member of the praise and worship team and assists her husband with the Youth Ministry.
